Since 2009, the proportion of children's books in the book retail market has been increasing year by year. In addition to 2009, the growth rate of children's books in other years has remained above 10%, children's books have become China's largest book market, the fastest growth of sub-categories. The proportion of children's books in 019 increased by 2.1 percentage points to about 26.2% compared to 2018. The scale reached about 23.5 billion yuan. The year-on-year growth rate of children's books exceeded the overall yo-year growth rate of the book market, and became an important engine to drive the growth of the book retail market. The biggest segment of the children's book market is also the publishing agency's "warrior's land." In this context, in response to the needs of children's education, in the government departments association's advocacy, relying on Guangzhou in southern China, regional, economic, educational advantages, "China (Guangzhou) International Children's Book Fair (BOOK-EXPO)" will be held in Zhangzhou International Procurement Center. At that time, kindergartens, schools, libraries, science and technology museums, enterprises, civil society organizations, and families, investors, investment funds, media, etc. from all over the country will participate in the conference buyers, jointly exchange and share the experience and achievements of children's books, jointly explore the effective program of combining children's books with classroom teaching, promote the further development of China's children's book industry, and share information on children's book products as a one-stop high-end platform.

2009年以來，少兒圖書在圖書零售市場中的比重逐年上升。除2009年外，其他年份的少兒圖書規(guī)模增速保持在10%以上，少兒圖書已然成為我國圖書市場規(guī)模**大、增速**快的細分品類。
019全年少兒圖書規(guī)模占比相較于2018年上升2.1個百分點，達到26.2%左右。規(guī)模達到235億元左右。少兒類圖書規(guī)模同比增幅超過圖書市場整體同比增速，成為帶動圖書零售市場增長的重要引擎。少兒圖書市場的**大細分門類，也是出版機構(gòu)的“兵家必爭之地”。
在此背景下針對兒童教育的需求，在政府主管部門協(xié)會的倡導(dǎo)下，依托廣州在華南地域、經(jīng)濟、教育優(yōu)勢，"中國（廣州）國際兒童圖書展覽會(簡稱BOOK-EXPO)"將在琶洲國際采購中心舉辦。屆時，來自全國各地的幼兒園、學(xué)校、圖書館、科技館、企業(yè)、民間組織、及家庭、投資人、投資基金、媒體等將參與到會議采購商，共同交流分享兒童圖書的經(jīng)驗與成果，共同探討兒童圖書與課堂教學(xué)結(jié)合的有效方案，推動中國兒童圖書事業(yè)進一步發(fā)展，分享兒童圖書產(chǎn)品信息的一站式高端平臺。
